Should I call this my bimonthly blog post?

I know that you are all just as incredibly busy as I, but I just have the hardest time fitting the blog into my schedule since we have started schooling. I do try to keep up with all of you. I would rather read all of your blogs than post anyway. Well, we have had a lot going on the past few weeks and here is one......

My mother's cat had 4 kittens and using mother's words, 11 days later she had a fatal car accident (the cat, not mother). Well, mother did not feel that she could bottle feed all 4 kittens so she decided we needed to take 2 of them. You know since she thinks because we home school we have so much free time on our hands. That's a whole other story in itself. Here are the 2 babies we brought home and my girls have been bottle feeding. They look like little rats they are so small. I have a feeling we will end up keeping these 2, as much as we do not need them.

Now, this is the crafting I have been doing. I took one of my plain white lamp shades and spray painted it red. I got the idea from the Berry's Patch. She painted hers using acrylic paint and I used spray paint. I think it turned out great. I still plan to add some trim around the edges but I have to make a trip to Hobby Lobby for that.

Susie did you recognize that wonderful tassel? I love it!!!

Then I dug out this tropical tray that I have had stored forever. I gave it a quick coat of the red.

I hope to add feet to it and use it as a centerpiece on my table. I will update when I get it done. I also painted an old window frame white. I hope to put it above my mantel. Lord willing, that will be my next post.

Have a great week.

The lamp shade looks great! Thank you for linking me. I'm in love with your babies. They are precious. When I was little, my family had to nurse a kitten that someone had thrown in the trash. We used a tiny doll bottle. We thought she might be too young to make it without the mother but she did fine.

I was thinking of you the other day when some friends talked me into canning peaches. It was time consuming but fun. I'm not good at saving them though. I'm on my third jar already. They are just too yummy to let sit. :-)

Those poor kitties, that makes me so sad. I would have never thought to spray paint a lamp shade, what an awesome idea. Yours looks so good, I love the red color.

Oh, those kittens are so adorable! I don't think I'd be able to part with them after taking such good care of them, either. Then again, if the family that took care of Jonathan and his brother, Skip, had decided that they couldn't give them up we, nor our friends Jeff and Lisa, would have our precious puppies!

LOVE that red lampshade. I've never thought of that...might give that a try.

Hi Trixi! Thank YOU for finding me through Picket's link--cuz now I have the pleasure of reading your great blog!!

No wonder you don't have time to post--gads, girl, you are BUSY! What a terrific idea of spray painting a lamp shade--it looks wonderful, along with the tray. Oh, those sweet kittens! God love you for taking them in---that's how I ended up with my newest kitty--I'm tender hearted, too. Ours was a stray---nearly dead from starvation. She's Twiggy, one of the kitties in my newest post. Finally, I am very impressed that you canned all of that! WOW! What a great accomplishement. I see we started blogging about the same time and that we have some of the same blogs listed on our sidebars---it is so much fun, but I, too, haven't been able to partake as much lately with all that happens around here in the fall.
It was a pleasure "meeting" you and I plan on reading future posts of yours---looking forward to watching your kittens grow up!
